Hand Position for Classical Guitar

Left Hand Positioning

The thumb of the left hand should be midway on the back of the neck, generally between the position of the index and middle fingers.  Thumb should never extend over the top of the neck.

Right Hand Positioning

Right hand is placed toward the rear of the sound hole

Right hand knuckles should be parallel with the strings
